Sevmek Zamani tells the story of Halil, a humble house painter who falls in love with a photograph of a woman named Meral that he sees while painting her seaside villa. He becomes obsessed with her image, regularly visiting the house to gaze at her portrait when no one is around.
As their relationship develops, Meral falls in love with Halil, but he continues to struggle with his preference for loving her portrait rather than the real woman. This creates a philosophical tension at the heart of the film about the nature of love, reality versus representation, and emotional connection.
